Civic Activities

Our club participates in many civic and charitable activities throughout the year. Culminating with our Carrousel of Crafts, we take the money raised and support local charities that support the Wadsworth community.

Last year, the Wadsworth Newcomers Club raised more than $9,000 for the following charities that help support Wadsworth, Ohio and surrounding area.

Wadsworth FISH
Wadsworth FISH is an all-volunteer, faith-based 40-year-old nonprofit organization which provides emergency and short-term financial assistance to our Wadsworth residents in financial distress. One hundred percent of our income from donations is disbursed directly to the providers of the requests of our clients (i.e., landlord, local grocery, utility companies, etc.).

Care Baskets
This is an internal project that takes place one Saturday each May. We receive the names of approximately 20-25 local needy families from FISH, another one of our local charities who has the main function of providing families in crisis with funds needed to cover the cost of food, rent, and utilities. During our care baskets event, we assemble and distribute large baskets and bags of food and household items for these families.

Helping Hands
Whenever a club member has an illness, birth, or death in the family, we band together to make their lives a little easier! A hot meal is coordinated and scheduled to be delivered at the member's convenience.
